IET’s progress is carefully overseen by a Board of Trustees which meets every quarter, to review the budget, spending and progress on each project. The Chief Executive officer and Chief Operating Officer are present in each meeting. The Annual Meeting takes place in June.
Zainab is an architect currently working at Indus Hospital. She graduated in Architecture from IVS Karachi in 1997 and has since been actively working on various design projects. Her past experience covers architecture and interior design with Tariq Associates as well as freelance practice. Zainab has also taught at Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture and Textile Institute of Pakistan. She has also served as member of Advisory Committee at IVS.
Dr. Nasir Afghan is qualified and certified expert/trainer by IAEA, Vienna Austria to conduct trainings on Nuclear Safety Culture and Nuclear Leadership. Dr. Nasir Afghan is currently a faculty member and Director MBA Program at IBA Karachi and has served as faculty at SDSB, LUMS and University of Applied Sciences Graz, Austria. Dr. Afghan has done PhD in Managerial Effectiveness from University of Twente, the Netherlands. He also holds MBA degree in Industrialization and Strategic Management from Maastricht, the Netherlands. He has presented papers at several national and international conferences. His present research interest is in the area of Transformation Leadership and Leadership Development.
Abbas is currently working in the power generation business, with Malaysian and Middle East Consortium, developing over 1200 MW worth of projects in Pakistan. Abbas has served as the MD and CEO of Progas Energy Limited and Progas Pakistan Limited and is part of Energy Expert Group, set up by the Economic Advisory Council under the Ministry of Finance, Government of Pakistan. He is also the Director of Eden Energy International. He has also been associated with Deloitte Haskins UK and Project Development Company, Sharjah.
Salim has served as the Governor of State Bank, Pakistan and a member of the Advisory Council to the Pakistan’s Finance Ministry, working closely on drawing up of key reforms to underpin sustainability of economic growth in Pakistan. He is the founder of Pakistan Business Council (PBC). His previous associations have been with Citibank, Middle East, Africa, UK, Central Europe and Eastern Europe. His business experience covers Credit and Corporate Finance and Real Estate and Global Assets Management.
Tazeen has been associated with IET since 2010. At IET she helps look after the media and communications. Tazeen has been working in the higher education sector since 2005. She is currently the Coordinator of the Foundation Programme at Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture (IVS) and visiting faculty at Karachi University, Department of Visual Studies. She is also the patron of Laltain Performing Arts Society, (IVS student society). She has been a contributor to national newspapers and blogs at http://tazeen-hussain.blogspot.com/. Tazeen is also a visual and performing artist with a portfolio, covering visual arts, television, theatre, journalism and social work.
Afia started her career as Pakistan's first female cricket journalist. She has accumulated a vast experience of print, electronic and web journalism with some of Pakistan's leading media outlets. She also has over 15 years of experience in the field of advertising, and headed Creative department of three known advertising agencies. She has more recently been involved in the field of development sector communications, focusing on environment, climate change, labour, gender issues, digital rights and media ethics, about which she writes, and trains media persons.
Nadim currently serves on the Board of Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Ltd. and is the Chairman of the Audit committee. He is also Vice Chairman and Board member of Securities Leasing Corporation Limited. He has previously been associated with Unilever, Pakistan, AW Galadari Trading, Dubai, Continental Biscuits, Pakistan, Serena Hotels, Pakistan, Beximco Textiles and Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Bangladesh. He is also a trustee of the KEF (Kashmir Education Foundation Pakistan) and devotes his time to pro bono philanthropic engagements.
