Indus Earth Trust is more than just an organization to me. It is a means of expressing my gratitude to the society that has shown me so much love and respect. I have always thought it was my responsibility to give back to society. While establishing the Trust, I met many people who shared my vision for an ideal society and wanted to effect genuine beneficial change.
I’m delighted these people are now members of the Indus Earth Trust board and they are proactive people with a strong will and an exceptional commitment to society, sharing my obligations and working to improve our society. We could not have transformed so many people’s lives without their help.
The mission of IET is to facilitate a movement to raise living standards by improving socioeconomic conditions through an integrated development approach that includes reduced use of fossil fuels and encourages the exploration of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) while protecting flora, fauna, and marine life.
Over the last 22 years, we have been recognized for our work, commitment, results-oriented approach, and sustainability of community development initiatives in rural and urban Sindh. Our most precious asset is the network of people and organizations we’ve built via our actions over the years. We know from experience that bringing people together generates synergy.
Our top objective is to solve actual problems on the ground. We hold lively discussions with nonprofit organizations, corporations, governments, international organizations, researchers, and volunteers to brainstorm possible solutions and initiate and implement projects.
We have been able to give basic necessities to the impoverished while also caring for our elders, women, minority groups, and people with disabilities. We have accomplished a great deal thus far, but our mission will not be complete until we see all faces around us smiling and no one loses the courage to confront life’s challenges.
