Gender Justice and Economic Empowerment

Introduction

Indus Earth Trust’ Gender Justice and Economic Empowerment (GJEE) program encompass ensuring equal rights, opportunities, and responsibilities for women and men, as well as empowering women to participate fully in all aspects of life. This includes access to education, healthcare, economic resources, and political participation. Achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment is crucial for creating prosperous and equitable society.

Gender inequalities are still deep-rooted in our society. Women suffer from lack of access to decent work and face occupational segregation and gender wage gaps. In many situations, they are denied access to basic education and health care and are victims of violence and discrimination. They are under-represented in political and economic decision-making processes.

Indus Earth Trust GJEE program addressing all forms of gender-based discrimination and violence, including domestic violence, sexual harassment, and harmful traditional practices through the mass awareness. This involves enabling women to participate fully in the economy, have control over their resources, and benefit from decent work and social protection.  Ensuring women have equal representation in political decision-making at all levels. Addressing societal norms and attitudes that perpetuate gender inequality and limit women’s opportunities.
