IET recently concluded a skills training for representatives of the Production Centres part of the LEED Program, PPAF.
HKM (Hunar Ki Manzil) is a purely Handicrafts Based training , which offers extensive training covering Skill Enhancement, and Market Exposure. It aims to create employment opportunities for the traditional craftspeople (mostly women) living below the poverty line. HKM hopes to reinvent local craft and introduce a modernised version to the world, something which is being greatly appreciated and is in demand. Through this HKM hopes to accomplish two things: revive Pakistani culture and bring employment to the local craftsmen.
The conclusion of the 8 day training was marked by a certificate distribution ceremony. Ms. Humera Allwani, ex – MPA Sindh Assembly was the Chief Guest. She spoke to the participants and distributed the certificates to the women and men.
